Apple's Mac emerges as the fastest-growing PC brand in India during Q4 2025, fueled by record sales, expanding retail presence, and strong consumer demand amid a booming premium market.

Mac's Surge Leads PC Growth in India's Competitive Market

In the final quarter of 2025, Apple's Mac lineup claimed the title of the fastest-growing PC brand in India, outpacing rivals in a market hungry for premium computing power.

This milestone comes as Apple reports record-breaking sales across its product ecosystem, including iPhones, iPads, and services, signaling a deepening foothold in the world's second-largest smartphone and PC market.

Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, highlighted during the company's global earnings call that India delivered a terrific quarter from October to December 2025, with revenue hitting new highs for Mac shipments alongside other categories.

The growth reflects broader trends where aspirational buyers are upgrading to high-performance devices, bolstered by Apple's push into local manufacturing and wider distribution channels.

Key Drivers Behind Mac's Rapid Expansion

Apple's success with Mac in India stems from several strategic moves and market dynamics.

The company has ramped up investments, including opening its fifth retail store last month and planning another in Mumbai soon, which has drawn in first-time buyers for Macs, iPads, and more.

Counterpoint Research notes that the iPhone's ecosystem strength is creating a halo effect, pulling users toward complementary products like Macs, with record quarters for both hardware and services.

Premium smartphones above ₹30,000 grew 15% year-over-year, capturing a record 23% of shipments, a segment where Apple dominates and influences PC purchases.

Local demand for Apple's silicon-powered laptops and desktops, known for their efficiency and battery life, has resonated with professionals and students seeking reliable performance.

said Tarun Pathak, research director at Counterpoint.

We are seeing a clear 'halo effect' as services, Mac and iPad all posted record quarters. Strong product and channel strength is helping Apple to reach its aspirational user base faster than ever before,

Broader Apple Momentum Shapes Future Outlook

Beyond Macs, Apple's overall performance in India underscores a maturing presence.

The iPhone achieved a record 9% volume market share in 2025, shipping around 14 million units despite a flat overall smartphone market of 152-153 million devices.

This uptick from 7% in 2024 was driven by models like the iPhone 16, the top-shipped device, and growing availability across channels.

Services saw unprecedented engagement, with the App Store boasting over 850 million weekly users globally, including record visitors in India.

CFO Kevan Parekh pointed to strong double-digit growth in the iPhone installed base, setting records for upgraders and ecosystem expansion.

While Vivo led smartphone shipments at 23%, followed by Samsung and Xiaomi, Apple's premium focus positions it for sustained gains through 2027, especially as new stores and manufacturing scale up.

India's role as Apple's fastest-growing major market, with 18.2% year-on-year growth earlier in the year, hints at even more potential in PCs.

This remarkable Q4 2025 performance positions Apple, particularly its Mac brand, at the forefront of India's evolving tech landscape, driven by retail expansion, ecosystem loyalty, and premium demand that promises continued leadership.
